The implementation of multitasking in iOS has been criticized for its approach, which limits the work that applications in the background can perform to a limited function set and requires application developers to add explicit support for it. The iPhone Fold will support two apps side-by-side, bringing multitasking to the iPhone for the first time, plus apps will get side bars. Potential widgets could include controls for depth of field, timers, photo styles, and exposure adjustments.
